<itunes:summary>Digging up the corpse of Old Time Radio and putting a funny hat on it, Coyote Radio Theater has haunted the airwaves and strange, offbeat venues of the rural Central Arizona Highlands since 1997.

They perform original comedy sketches with live sound effects and music.

Revenge of the Radio Avenger - Part 2

<img src="http://coyoteradiotheater.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/48420/0x0_668756.jpg" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Here's an amusingly tart critique of bland corporate radio with a very uncharacteristic nod to OTR. Usually we leave old time radio references to our good friends in Canada's relentlessly good Decoder Ring Theatre.

But in this case, we hope you don't mind. When we're trying to poke fun at modern radio's sad state of affairs, it may be most telling to remember how great our airwaves once were.

(Orginally recorded at the 5th Annual Day of the Dead Dinner Show, Nov. 2004, the Crystal Ballroom of the Hotel Montezuma, Prescott, AZ)

Or were they?

Find out in the second of a 3-parter concerning the strange doings in rural Arizona around last Halloween. There's spooky comedy, there's red state/blue state satire, menacing squirrels and well, there's "Hamlet on the Hindenburg," what can we say?

Voice Actors: Angie Johnson-Schmit, Pam Martin, Greg Martin, Christian Smith, Comic Genius; Foley Artists Tiff Boehle and Kate McEwen; Written by Christian Smith and Andrew Johnson-Schmit; Directed by Andrew Johnson-Schmit

Dead Votes Society

<img src="http://coyoteradiotheater.podOmatic.com/mymedia/thumb/48420/0x0_668763.jpg" alt="itunes pic" /><br />Howdy Coyotistas!

As we prepare the count-down to this year's 7th Annual Day of the Dead Dinner Show, let us cast a bemused ear over DoDDS of years past.

This fundraising event for KYXS,Coyote Radio - Prescott, Arizona's Community Radio Group, began as a way to attract radio station big shots into carrying live comedy radio theater over their airwaves. And . . . as it turns out, they really didn't care. But audiences seemed to.

They come back year after year for this fresh approach to comedy and to support our fledgling community radio station.

Five of the first 6 DoDDS sold out. Will this year's show sell out? Hopefully, or Angie and I are going to be eating a lot of left over Mexican food.

This first episode is "The Dead Votes Society," a spoof of NPR interview pieces from our 2006 DoDDS at the Hotel Saint Michael.

      <itunes:summary>Howdy Coyotistas!
